I cannot believe that this is the last blog post. Nor can I
believe that we only have two classes left. The time really flew by and I have
to say I'm going to miss this class. I liked that we were a small class and
really got to know some of each other’s interests. I'm also going to miss Ms.
More, she's a great teacher and made class fun, it also helped that she is a
fellow nerd :). I think that this class has been very useful to me. Not only
did I get to see just how good my writing is going from high school to college,
but the types of writing assignment we had will be useful in the future. I am
sure that as an English major I've going to have to write multiple Rhetorical
Analysis and Research papers. I also know that the fact that we worked on
resumes and cover letters was a huge benefit. It's nice that all I have to do
for my resume now is just to keep updating it when I accomplish something new.
I am also grateful that I learned how to write a cover letter so that whenever
I apply for a job I know what to do, which will better ensure my chance of
getting the job. The job unit really helped my confidence in getting jobs.
Whether that be a summer job, or in giving me some comfort in thinking about
applying for a job after college. The fact that I already have my resume done
when most seniors are working on theirs is awesome because I feel more
prepared. I am also glad that I took this class when I did, because I believe
that although it wasn’t set up as one, for me it was a good transition in going
from writing in high school and writing in college. Although I don't like
bragging or talking about myself the practice of writing a cover letter helped
me know how to talk about my capabilities for a job without being a brat about
it. I am grateful for all of the assignments we have done this semester because
they all helped to become a stronger writer, not to say that I am the best
writer, because we all know I have a lot of work. This class has helped my
confidence in my writing as well. I didn't expect to do all well as I did on my
first paper. I also didn't expect that I would have useful advice for those
that have been writing longer than I have. So, thank you Ms. More and my fellow
classmates for making this class useful and of course fun.
